Andora Fiona Grossman - Chapter Two

Chapter Two
Only three more weeks til summer vacation. I can't wait! It's hard to concentrate at school 'cause I think my brain is already on vacation. Wait for me, brain. I'm glad school is almost over but I'll miss Miss Beckman. She's so pretty and so nice. She let's me sit in front because I can't hear good in one of my ears. My mom had to talk with her when school started and the rest is history. It's not so bad not hearing that good. I was born that way and I'm used to it. I was a little embarrassed sitting up front at first. Some kids whispered but I ignored them 'cause they are just jealous like Destiny.
Miss B. is passing out word scrambles. I think it's busy-work because she keeps staring out of the window and leaving the room alot. Maybe she's got ants in her pants. Poor Miss B.
Jake, the nose picker waits for her to leave the room then he runs over to the turle tank and flicks it making everyone laugh but not me. That's just disrespectful.
I'm so bored. I finished my word scramble and everyone's acting like a bunch of monkeys except for most of us girls 'cause we're civilized young ladies.
Miss H. from next door peeps her head in and out again checking on us then she comes in all the way and claps her hands for attention.
"Alright, class." Clap-Clap. "Sit down. I need your eyes up here." Clap-Clap. Everyone shushes and then it's quiet. "Mrs. Beckman isn't feeling well, so I want you to go to the reading center and pick out a book to read." I hear alot of moans and groans.
"I'm going to check in on you every few minutes until the bell rings.", she says. "Andora, will you be my helper and let me know if anyone is causing trouble?" I smile at her but inside I'm not happy. "Yes 'em." I say in my fake country accent. I don't like being in charge 'cause then I have to squill on people.
When Miss H. leaves the room, sure enough, the boys start being outragious. I stand up on my seat and clear my throat and clap real loud. "People.... please, let's have some order in here!.... People...." They laughed at me so I just march over to Mrs. H's room. After that everyone is quiet and the bell rings.

Great writing and I can tell it comes from the heart...

Nice. No one wants to be the teacher's "helper", do they?
lovelypaper; I like Andora, she sounds like a most "6 going on 16" little girl...
