He Took the Nails for Me

He chose to stay on the Cross

Don't ever say God doesn't care about you!

You know the verse, John 3:16. It is probably the most memorized verse there is. We recite it so much that I wonder if we really stop to think about it...meditate on how precious it really is. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. If ever a scripture carried alot of weight, it is this one. Do we understand that kind of Love? I don't. I really don't. My human mind tries to grasp the kind of love God has for me but I can't fully understand. My spirit knows and I weep with gratitude over and over when I think of The Cross and the Man hanging there, suffering for the world. He was fully man and fully God. But fully man suffering the anguish so that we could be forgiven our sins. Jesus could have called the angels to his side at anytime but He didn't. He was in turmoil at the Garden of Gethsemane. He was willing to go through what He did despite the beatings and torture. .......Thank you Jesus......Thank you Father for your precious Son.....

There's a beautiful song by Casting Crowns and in it ...."He took the nails for me..." . Yes He did. Praise God.

I think you're on to something, Phoebe. It's easier to forgive others sometimes than it is to forgive ourselves. We know that Jesus forgives everyone but "me" because we may carry some guilt over our past.

Very interesting hub.

Have you ever noticed how many people fight against the message that story gives? Someone loves you enough to die for your misdeeds... yet people say it isn't possible, that it is a lie. Sometimes I have to wonder if they believe that because they don't love themselves enough to see how a person would do that for them.

Early in my Christian walk I asked God to prove to me He loved me and I felt like he said I already did and reminded me of the cross. How silly of me to have not regarded that as an extreme proof of His love.
