The Trial the World is Watching

Ever since little Caylee Marie Anthony was reported missing on July 15, the world has been drawn to the search for this adorable little girl. I remember being shocked when I heard that it was thirty one days since she had apparently disappeared and the mother, Casey Anthony had not even reported it to the police. It seems so unbelievable that a mother could wait even one day, much less a month to report her child missing and when the toddler was finally reported to be missing, it was the grandmother, not the mother that made that 911 call. We try to understand it, yet we cannot make sense of it because Casey seems to be exhibiting a narccisistic, even sociopathic behavior or personality disorder. Casey seems to wipe imaginary tears in court sometimes actually crying (for herself?) and yet the grandmother, Cindy Anthony sobs uncontrollably listening to the third 911 call that was played in court and she is visibly upset by pictures of the little childs bed but mom seems unphased by it all, even angry.

Grandmother, Cindy Anthony

Doting Grandmother Visibly Shaken

Caylee's grandmother, Cindy Anthony was clearly upset and emotional during her testimony. My heart went out to her for all the pain she was going through and have had to live through since Caylee's disappearance.

Does the Defense stand a chance?

Casey's attorney, Jose' Bias slammed accusations at George Anthony that he had been molesting his daughter since she was eight years old. It's stange that none of this was ever hinted at during this whole ordeal. I can't see the jury buying into such a crazy story. If that was only Day One of the trial, we are sure in for a wild ride. But...... despite all the drama.... we must never forget little Caylee.

I recently saw the case being televised and I can't imagine how any mother could hide the "accidental" death of a child. And the way it was hidden is very questionable. She bound her and taped her mouth shut. If Caylee drowned in the pool and was already dead (according to her mother) then why was all that necessary? I shed tears when I think of that poor little girl, so sweet and so young.

i personally think the same i wish the evidence would of been presented and all "inflamatory" videos would of been shown in trail isnt that what a fair trial is about to show the court:the stste that their was no remort towards this woman she is sick and disgusting as a human being and should of been placed in jail or gotten an lethal injection just as many murders i understand it wont help much it wont bring caylee back however its in gods hands and mrs.anthony will be repenting all her doings with no help from the one whom created us him self and the lack of the justice system is something else should be enforced its no use due to charged being droped however little caylee r.i.p sweetie im hurting to see how your death took place and what you had to go through on your own baby .....

Thanks, Mighty Mom. Although many of us are disappointed in the verdict, justice will be served in the end by God and He is so compassionate that if Casey turned to Him, she would be forgiven and be redeemed. On the human side, though, I just can't get over her callousness, which, if she is sociopathic, explains alot.

Everyone, including the jury that cleared Casey Anthony of murder charges, knows she's guilty. Just like everyone knows OJ was guilty. But our justice system requires proof "beyond a shadow of a doubt" on the prosecution's side. They simply didn't prove their case 100%.

I agree, Casey is a sick woman. What kind of mother lies to police about the circumstances of her toddler daughter's death?

Sociopaths are extremely dangerous. As Sa'ge stated, they learn to mimic other people's reactions as a compensation for not feeling any real emotions. Chronic liars who don't know the difference between truth and fiction because in their mind they are always right.

It has been predicted that Casey Anthony will see the inside of a courtroom again.

I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Good hub, lovelypaper. Thanks. MM

Hi, this is the first time that we, over here have heard of this, but of course the mother is guilty, the question is why? what on earth happened? poor little girl, God bless her.

Sa'ge, thanks for explaining about Sociopathic behavior.

I agree, we shouldn't focus on Casey. Caylee is the focus of the whole trial. She was killed, but her mother is on trial and many people just want to watch what happens and more importantly, hope that justice is served.

Broken people don't need an audience. This person is genetically broken. It is sick to watch it, like watching a soap on tv. not for me!

By being genetically impaired: Sociopaths never know right from wrong with emotions, they do not have that ability to even cipher through emotions. They do not even know when they feel good or bad so how can this mother show anything except what she mimicked from others. The gene is missing so she would not know that anything was wrong to call the police. In her mind she does not know what all the commotion is all about.

the gene that gives us the ability to have emotions is missing. She is a damaged human. Get the news of her and out of the courtroom and onto the real issue of the child.

This is indeed a really sad story. There is obviously something not right with Casey and maybe through all of this she will realize that she needs help.

Super tragic story that always begs the question how do people get that way. Do we all carry these potentials given the right or should I say wrong choices and circumstances? Most of us would like to think not. But I'm always curious as to how one gets that cold.

Interesting story
